• Math Masters

The “Math Masters Challenge” is a countywide competition for Pitt County Schools students.  Each elementary school creates a team consisting of six third graders, six fourth graders and six fifth graders.  The competition consists of two parts.  All students from each team take individual math tests.  Next, teams of three students work together to complete a group questioning round.  All of the points are added together to determine each school’s final score.  There is also a Math Master Challenge Round for the top individual 32 students from the day’s competition based on the individual test scores. Trophies are awarded to the schools placing first, second and third and medals are given to top-scoring groups of three.  An individual is named the “Pitt County Math Master!”.

At this time there has not been a county wide decision on whether Math Masters will be an option for the 2021-2022 school year.
