You will get emails from me in reference to scholarship opportunities, please take advantage of those opportunities. If you meet the criteria, PLEASE APPLY. Apply for everything that you are eligible for. This is FREE MONEY. It may require a little work to complete the application but it is worth it.     East Carolina Ivy Foundation, Inc ® (ECIF) launched in 2012 and supports charitable programs and collaborative partnerships that enhance education, culture, and healthy living for the residents of Pitt County.  ECIF extends an invitation for seniors to submit an application for the 2025 East Carolina Ivy Foundation Scholarship. This year ECIF will be awarding two (2) one time $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan on attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university in the fall of 2025. 


    Eligibility requirements are listed in the application packet. The deadline to apply is April 22, 2025.  Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 5, 2025.

      • Eligibility: Open to high school seniors who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are U.S. citizens. Applicants must have a track record of leadership in their community or school.

    • SKECHERS Athletic Performance Scholarship

      • Eligibility: Open to high school seniors who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are U.S. citizens. Students must have played a sport in high school and plan on participating in that sport in college.

    📌Thurgood Marshall College Fund Scholarship 

    The first wave of our 2025-2026 scholarship cycle is now open and we want to be sure to get the word out to as many students as possible. TMCF’s mission is to ensure student success by promoting educational excellence and preparing the next generation of workforce talent through leadership development, and what better way to ensure student success than by alleviating the worries of financial stress!

    Scholarship Timeline and Key Dates

    TMCF has updated our application process to feature two waves of scholarships. These timelines have changed from previous years, please encourage your students to plan ahead to ensure they don't miss any deadlines!

    Wave 1 (Access Scholarships)

    • Application Open: March 17, 2025*

    • Application Close: April 25, 2025 at 11:59 EST

    • Review Period: May - June 2025

    • Award Disbursement: July - September 2025**

    *With the exception of the McDonald's Black & Positively Golden Scholarship, which opened on Monday, November 11, 2024 and Sanofi's Next Gen Scholarship, which closes on April 7, 2025.

    **Disbursement times may vary due to external factors affecting awarding.

    Wave 2 (Gap Scholarships)

    • Application Open: June 2, 2025

    • Application Close: December 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted

    📌Sallie May Fund Scholarships 

    Do you know a high school senior planning to attend a two- or four-year college, or a continuing education program in the fall? They may be eligible for a $10,000 Bridging the Dream Scholarship from The Sallie Mae Fund and Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

    High school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution or a continuing education program during the 2025-2026 academic year are eligible. Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills and strong moral character and submit a short video sharing a unique perspective, passion, or curiosity that drives their academic interests.

    📌Criminal Justice Fellows Program

    Are you a graduating senior who plans to attend a North Carolina community college and major in Criminal Justice? See the information below.
     

    My name is Mary Burton, and I am the Criminal Justice Fellows Program Manager at the North Carolina Department of Justice. The Criminal Justice Fellows Program offers an educational sponsorship that covers tuition, fees, books, and supplies for high school graduates to obtain their associate degree at any North Carolina community college and begin a career in an eligible criminal justice profession.

    We are currently taking applicants from high school seniors and high school graduates interested in beginning their college coursework in Fall 2025. The application deadline is April 30, 2025. There are only 100 Fellowships to be awarded each year, so interested applicants should apply ASAP!

    📌Buster Bynum Scholarship

     

    Information about the Buster Bynum Scholarship for high school seniors that are children of active public school transportation employees is now available.

     

     

     

     

     

    Please distribute this information to all active school transportation employees, including school bus drivers. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving high school student in North Carolina to further his or her education.

     

    Scholarship packets must be complete (including all required documents) and turned in to the transportation director by April 17.

     

    The local selection must be forwarded to brandon.arrington@dpi.nc.gov by May 1, or mailed with postmark by the same date to:

    📌Incarceration Prevention Youth Program 

    The Youth Incarceration Prevention Ministry will be awarding (2) $500.00 founding scholarships to (2) graduating seniors from a public high school in either of the following counties in North Carolina: Pitt, Martin, Beaufort, Greene, Lenoir, Edgecombe, Washington, or Beaufort Counties

    📌NCCU National Alumni Association

    RENEWABLE scholarship from the NCCU National Alumni Association for $5000 per year. The student must maintain a 3.3 GPA and complete 25 hours of community service per year to remain eligible to keep the scholarship. This is not a scholarship that was/is widely advertised.
     
    The organization gives multiple renewable $5000/year and multiple $3000/year renewable scholarships each year.  
     
    The application is now available HERE for students to apply for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students must already be admitted to NCCU for fall 2025 and must have a minimum 3.0 weighted GPA and minimum SAT/ACT scores (900 SAT, 17 ACT). The application consists of a form to complete and requires an essay or video, two letters of recommendation, high school transcript, a resume, and a counselor verification form all to upload electronically via Google Forms at the link on the website.

    The purpose of the Roger R. Gregory Academic Scholarship Program is to assist North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in attracting to its campus outstanding students who exhibit high academic, citizenship, leadership characteristics, and desire to contribute positively to the quality of study and life at the University.     📌 Parker Jernigan Scholarship Application 

    Clay and Marcie Parker fund this scholarship in their parents’ honor and memory for $30,000 to help cover tuition expenses.

    Recipients must meet the following criteria:

    • Weighted GPA of no less than a 3.0

    • Two letters of recommendation from either a teacher, guidance counselor, principal, pastor or employer on letterhead. (1 must be from a school educator)

    • Resume laying out employment, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.

    • Demonstrated interest in a Health Science or Business Career path in a North Carolina school of higher education. 

    • Applicant must demonstrate high moral character (no criminal history)

    • Please attach the official school transcript of grades. ACT or SAT score preferred.

    • Interview required for the finalists.

    evaluation process.

    📌 TEACHING FELLOWS OPPORTUNITY AT NORTH CAROLINA AGRICULTURAL AND TECHNICAL STATE UNIVERSITY
     At North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, we offer a scholarship providing $5,000 per semester for high-achieving students interested in pursuing careers in teaching.
    This scholarship supports students who are focused on certification in the following areas:
    • Agriculture
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Biology
    • Physics
    • Special Education
    • Elementary Education
    • Dual License: Elementary/Special Education
    In addition to financial support, our Teaching Fellows receive an iPad to enhance their studies and participate in a program to become Apple Certified Teachers, equipping them with valuable technological skills that will enhance their teaching effectiveness in the classroom.
